What are VOC's?

  • There are a group of compounds present in ambient air that can cause a variety of health related symptoms, many of which are very similar to those caused by airborne mold. These include skin irritation, respiratory difficulties, headaches, nausea and dizziness, to name a few.

What causes VOC's?

  • There are hundreds of different VOC's, and nearly as many sources, but the most common household sources include: plastics, pressed wood furniture, construction adhesives, paints / lacquers, household cleaning products and carpeting / matting.

What can I do?

  • The first step in any Indoor Air Quality situation is determine if there is an elevated level of dangerous material in particular areas of your structure. After that, we will further pinpoint the source, and then provide advice on remediation and future prevention.
